Groomed in the vibrant surroundings of the Amsterdam nightlife, Bangkok based Maarten Goetheer has positioned himself as a stalwart of the Asian Dance Industry. He is the Music Director for Jim Thompson (Thailand), the founder of Sabai Sabai Radio, programmer for Hi-Fidelity Music Room Lennons, the in-house programmer for RAYNUE in Bangkok and Music co-curator of the Enfold Stage at Wonderfruit Festival, and last but not least being the Brand Ambassador for VOID ACOUSTICS in the Asia Pacific region.
He has recently celebrated his 25th year as a professional DJ and there are no signs of stopping the Music! Maarten is currently focusing on Fully Immersive Productions and Live shows aided by an ongoing partnership with Canadian Audio powerhouse ADAMSON. By utilizing their proprietary Fletcher Machine Space in Sound is explored for both his DJ sets and production work.
Maarten won his first DMC DJ contest at the tender age of 17 and his emerging talents soon earned him a DJ residency at the hotspot Bitterzoet just a block away from the famous RUSH HOUR record store. A 2010 move to Asia kickstarted his imminent DJ career. Ever since then he has been waving the flag for Quality Music in the region.
Widely known as an Avid Vinyl collector, Maarten’s DJ and Production style explores the lines between Italo, 80ies Electro, Dub, Acid, Proto-House and Boogie. His latest releases include Temptation ft Isaac Aesili, The Covers EP and Poy Sian: a Thai Molam and Luk Thung inspired record.
Maarten has held residencies at BEAM (Bangkok), infamous M1NT (Hong Kong), KEE club, MIDNIGHT & CO, DROP, ARMANI/AQUA and VOGUE Lounge. He was also invited to play at the Lot Radio (Brooklyn, New York) Amsterdam Dance Event, H0l0 (New York), Red Light Radio (Amsterdam), Mystic Valley Festival (Thailand), Wonderfruit Festival (Thailand), ALTN8 Festival (Hong Kong), Potato Head Music Room (Hong Kong), Potato Head Beach Club (Bali), SOAP (Seoul), Seoul Community Radio, The Powder Room (Singapore), Ku De Ta (Bali, Bangkok) Sri Panwa and Baba Beach Club (Sri Panwa Resort, Phuket).
The past four years he has worked on shows featuring WHATSONOT, Derrick May, Peggy Gou, Soul Clap, Black Motion, Flight Facilities, Made in TYO, Satoshi Tomiie, Tokimonsta, KiNK, POMO, Carl Craig, Detroit Swindle, Alex From Tokyo, Tom Trago, Snakehips amongst many others.
